My humble advice for fellow bloggers

Before I get started, I want to highlight that I am not writing this from the perspective of a connoisseur, because I will never consider myself one. I am writing this because I feel the need to express my thoughts and share my point of view with you. Maybe in the end you will agree with me or maybe you will not, the only thing that matters is to make your voice heard (and this is my way of achieving this).

I know, It’s hard to get started. It’s hard to compete against the already famous players of this game we all call social media. But you might have some qualities that the others don’t, something unique and refreshing: your personality. And I bet that you have heard this statement many times before, but have you really understood it? This means that you have almost everything you need to stand out, you just have to follow your own path and show people who you really are.

Authenticity is the key of this game

I am definitely not one of the experienced bloggers and there’s no reason to listen to me, but there are some unspoken rules that I consider very important to take into consideration. At the top of the list it’s being true to yourself. Don’t pretend to be someone or something else than yourself and don’t let any numbers define you. At every single step of your journey you have the chance to learn something new about who you are, and by skipping some stages you might end up not knowing what’s best for you anymore. Don’t try to build a synthetic appearance, because trust me, everyone will notice. Instead, try to keep on doing what you love and share your passions online. Stop complaining and making strategies and start creating something that will inspire the ones around you. Hard work is always rewarded and you just need to wait for your turn to stand out. Even if it’s possible to go viral overnight, it’s rarely the case and there’s no reason to rush into things. Patience it’s a quality that you’ll have to develop not only for the beginning of your journey, but for every opportunity you will have ever after.

Everybody has one question on the tip of their tongue: how do you grow your following?

The answers is simple and there’s no secret strategy behind it that I’m aware of. You have to be authentic and keep on sharing what you love to do. Show your passions and intrigue everyone around. Be sincere and create something inspiring, because you have all the means at your fingertips.

This blogpost might not be addressed to you personally, but there are some people out there that might need a kind reminder. The social life is not all about numbers and appearance, it’s about your strength of character.

But if you’re feeling even a little guilty after reading this post, please try to make a difference!
